The maremma

The Maremma is a large geographical area of Tuscany washed by the Tyrrhenian Sea, whose boundaries are difficult to define. Dante, in the Divine Comedy, defined its boundaries between “Cecina and Corneto” or Livorno and Viterbo.

Unique to the Maremma is the diversity of its microcosm: crystal clear sea, long beaches or impenetrable cliffs, mountains covered with dense forests, lakes and apartment areas, green cultivated hills and natural thermal baths.

A place whose roots go back to prehistory, then to the Etruscans and the Romans, who left important historical and artistic traces all over the region.
